Acme Ink opened in 1996 on Baxter Avenue as Louisville’s only custom tattoo studio. In 2006, the shop moved to a larger space at 2007 Bonnycastle Avenue to facilitate its growth. Acme has remained a shop specializing in custom work – artists emphasize originality in their designs, resulting in tattoos created specifically for each customer.Acme Ink is committed to cleanliness and safety as well as artistic integrity, scoring a 100 in both the Tattoo and Body Piercing Studio Inspection Report conducted by the Kentucky Department for Public Health. Shop hours are 2 p.m. until 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Customers must be at least 18 years old – no exceptions. A government issued picture I.D. is required. Acme Ink accepts CASH ONLY. A deposit is required in order to secure an appointment – please refer to our pricing section for more details.

Pricing

The minimum fee for a tattoo is $60.00
The charge for large custom work is $125.00 an hour.
All large custom pieces (such as sleeves or large back pieces) require a $100.00 non-refundable deposit.

The deposit for smaller tattoos ranges from $20.00 to $100.00. The deposit is dependant upon the size of the tattoo and the discretion of the artist.

Acme asks that customers notify their artists within 24 hours of cancellation or rescheduling an appointment. Any cancellation or rescheduling not made within 24 hours before the original appointment will result in the loss of the customer deposit.
